Veneers vs. LumineersTM (Minimal Prep Laminate Veneers)
 
The traditional way of correcting crooked, chipped or discolored teeth has always been porcelain veneers. This normally involves approximately .5 mm of tooth reduction in order to provide enough room for the final cosmetic porcelain. Now, in all honesty, this may still be necessary in some of the more dramatic cases and the results can be absolutely gorgeous.

 
But, with the introduction of Lumineers™ this has all changed. In many cases we are now able to provide this amazing new cosmetic change in only two visits with almost no tooth reduction at all. That's right, no drilling, no injection and only two short visits. This is all due to a new process by which these ultra-thin veneers can be made thin enough and yet be strong enough to withstand the everyday functions of chewing etc.
The Minimal Prep Process
The process is quite simple. If you are a candidate for Lumineers™ all we need to do is take two impressions. One of the upper jaw and one of the lower jaw. We design your smile and transmit this information, along with a shade, to a special laboratory. They fabricate the Lumineers™ in about a week or so. Since there is no tooth reduction, you don't even need temporaries. That by itself is quite a miracle.
 
The Finish
About one to two weeks later you come to the office and we place your Lumineers. No anesthesia is required and you leave the office with your new smile in about one to two hours.
